Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. They come in two flavours: first-party (set by us) and third-party (set by another service whose content is embedded on the page). Some websites also use localStorage, which is similar but stays inside the browser and is never sent in HTTP requests.

These are required for the site to work. They cannot be disabled without breaking key functionality.

• Supabase auth session, set when you log in. Keeps you signed in between page loads. Expires when your session ends or you log out. Set by our authentication provider, Supabase.

• Theme preference (localStorage), remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Default is dark.
• Print payload (localStorage), when you click “Print / PDF”, we briefly stash the calculation in localStorage so the new print tab can read it. The entry is deleted the moment the print tab loads. It is never sent to any server.
• Cookie choices (localStorage), stores your preferences and analytics choices, plus the date of your decision, under thi.consent.v1. It does not contain account or calculation data and remains until you clear browser storage.

Vercel Web Analytics runs without waiting for a cookie choice. It measures anonymous, aggregate page views and does not use cookies. Vercel may process the page viewed, referrer, browser and device details, and approximate location. Its daily visitor identifier is discarded after 24 hours and cannot track a visitor across websites.

Google Analytics is optional and does not load unless you enable the analytics category. When enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie and receive information about pages viewed, browser and device details, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

We use both services to understand general site usage and improve calculators and content. Vercel Web Analytics is not controlled by these cookie choices because it does not use cookies. You can stop future Google Analytics tracking at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. You can also clear existing Google Analytics cookies in your browser.

Google AdSense advertising and related ad scripts are not currently active anywhere on TakeHomeIncome. We do not currently serve ads or intentionally set Google advertising cookies on your browser.

• We retain an AdSense publisher-verification meta tag and an ads.txt file so Google can verify ownership of the website. Neither serves an ad or sets an advertising cookie.
• Before activating Google advertising, we will configure a Google-certified consent management platform for visitors in the UK and EEA and provide the required advertising choices.
• We will update this policy when advertising becomes active and explain how to review or withdraw advertising choices through that consent platform.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in or saving calculations.

A cookie consent banner appears on your first visit, before any non-essential cookies are used. You can:

• Accept all, turn on optional preferences and analytics.
• Reject all, keep only essential cookies. The site works exactly the same; we just don’t enable optional analytics.
• Manage choices, pick which categories you allow, individually.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser. You can change it at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer. Essential cookies remain required for login and account features and are not asked about.

This custom banner does not ask for advertising consent because advertising is not active. It will not be used to activate AdSense. Before ads are introduced, a Google-certified consent management platform will separately handle the required advertising choices.

If we add new cookies (for example a new analytics provider), we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
